Mayor of Wisbech, joins in celebrations for the start of Lent.

On Saturday 22 February, the Mayor of Wisbech, Cllr Michael Hill joined around 300 people to celebrate the start of Lent.

The Uzgavenes (Mardi Gras) is a Lithuanian celebration held in public squares, parks or family houses to mark the start of the seventh week before Easter and is their version of the British Pancake Day.
