Greater Cambridge, Greater Peterborough Housing & Well-being Visioning Workshop

Tue, 03 Jul 2018 16:15

We are happy to announce the last in a series of regional 'visioning workshops' for the creation of a publicly held, long-term vision of housing development in the Greater Cambridge, Greater Peterborough city-region.

At the workshop you will receive a short presentation on regional development trends and be asked to participate in fun and thought-provoking 'visioning exercises' with select practitioners and members of the general public.

The visioning workshops are part of a larger two-year research project on housing and well-being in the GCGP city-region. Results will be presented to officers of the county and district councils, the Combined Authority, as well as to leaders of local businesses and charities to inform the direction of local housing development.

To participate in this event, you will need to complete a 3-5 minute, pre-event survey that will be sent to you at a later date.

We hope you will join us and share both your hopes and fears for the direction of housing devlopment in your area. Tea and biscuits are provided to stimulate creative thinking and active discussion!

🌹🌺🌻🌷🌼🌸 Wisbech Rose Fair

Wed, 04 Jul 2018 09:00

Wisbech Rose Fair 2018

The Rose Fair began in 1963 when local rose growers sold rose buds in the Parish Church in aid of its restoration fund. The church of St Peter & St Paul still uses this wonderful occasion to raise funds for the upkeep of its ancient building, but over the years, the Rose Fair has grown into a Town Festival where other Wisbech churches and organisations open their doors and provide stalls and events to raise money for their causes.

We look forward to seeing you at the Wisbech Rose Fair 2018.

Wisbech will hold its annual Rose Fair and Flower Festival on 4th-7th July this year. The town churches will be open to visitors with the largest flower displays at St. Peter and St. Paul's church. There will be stalls in the church garden and two Festival street Parades on Saturday 7th July.

Coach parties are welcomed from all over East Anglia and beyond. Light refreshments will be served in many of the churches and set meals can be pre-booked in St Peter's church hall which is transformed into La Vie en Rose Café.

Please support all of these to help raise money to keep this beautiful building in good repair for future generations.

On the Thursday evening there will be sung Evensong at 5pm and on the Sunday there will be a Celebration Service with Holy Communion at 10am communion service; both in the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul.
