A47 road closures 8pm-6am 11-15 December
2017/18 Maintenance and Improvement Programme East
Upcoming works on the A47 between Redmoor roundabout and the A1101 Elm High Road roundabout:
• Installation of pedestrian warning signs
• Installation of road markings, traffic signs and bollards
• Laying of coloured surfacing to identify the layby from the main carriageway
Once completed, the works will provide a better quality of road surface and improved road signs for road users.
The works will take place from Monday 11 December 2017 until Friday 15 December 2017, between 8:00pm to 6:00am.
In order to carry out our work as quickly and safely as possible we will need to put in place some temporary traffic restrictions and diversions:
• Full closure of the A47 carriageway from the Redmoor roundabout to A1101 Elm High Road roundabout between 8:00pm and 6:00am on weeknights.
We will endeavour to complete the works during the dates above, however, they are dependent on factors such as weather, so delays may occur.
For any residents living within the road closure and wishing to gain access to their homes during our working times, an escort will be provided to ensure safe access to your property but delays may be experienced until we can arrange a safe route through the works area.
If you wish to discuss this project further, or have any questions about this work, then please contact our 24hr Highways England Customer Care team by phone on 0300 123 5000.
Alternatively, you can email GRAHAM Construction who will be carrying out the works at A47works@graham.co.uk
For the eastbound closure road users will be diverted off the A47 at Redmoor roundabout onto the B198/Cromwell Road. Turn right on to Weasenham Lane; turn right on to Elm High Road and head back on to the A47. Drivers heading westbound will follow the diversion in reverse.
